Portaferry 10 mile road race |
|
Two Larne AC representatives travelled to Portaferry on the evening of Tuesday 20th July to take part in the Portaferry 10 mile road race.
On this occassion only one of them was able to take part as the other one has a bad back. Nat Glenn taking part in his first 10 mile road race in over a year, thought that he would take the first few miles easy and pick up the pace later on in the race. The course was very similar to our own roads out at Cairncastle so Nat felt quite at home. When reaching the 8 mile mark he realised there was a good chance of breaking the hour so he went for it, finishing 15th out of a total of 282 runners, in a time of 59 mins 49 secs and picked up the Vet 45 prize along the way.
Many thanks to James Brown for travelling such a long way from Larne, for the company and the moral support.
